Mr Juned Patel commented: "The sky was completely overcast this evening at sunset, and the crescent moon was not visible".

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was fairly clear weather in York/UK today (3/10/2024) and so the sunset was clearly seen. However, the 23-hrs old moon's altitude was very low (due to the Major Lunar Standstill), so it was not seen, as expected. Note that it is quite normal to have three consecutive 30-day months (as in other Muslim countries like Morocco) and sometimes four consecutive 30-day months, without affecting the calendar".

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was partly cloudy in York today (4/10/2024) and I was hoping to see the 46-hours-old moon through a cloud gap just before sunset, but a dark bank of clouds covered it at the moon's position, so it was not seen. I stayed longer to see the Venus star but it was not seen either as it was close to the moon, behind the clouds (see photos)".

On Thursday, 3rd October 2024 (29th Rabi-I 1446 AH), the Hilal of Rabi-ul Thani 1446 was not sighted in the UK (Local), according to the rules of Shariah. Therefore, Rabi-I 1446 AH will complete 30 days, and Rabi-ul Thani 1446 AH will start on Saturday, 5th October 2024, InShaAllah.
