UK Hilal Testimony/Declaration: On Thursday, 13th August 2026 (29th Safar 1448 AH), the Hilal of Rabi-ul Awwal 1448 was not sighted in the British Isles (UK), according to the rules of Shariah. Therefore, Safar 1448 AH will complete 30 days, and Rabi-ul Awwal 1448 AH will start on Saturday, 15th August 2026, InShaAllah. Lunar Eclipse Prayer (Salatul Khusuf)

Please be aware that it is a Sunnah (Muakkadah) to pray Salatul Khusuf after witnessing the lunar eclipse (in the UK). It will be on Fri, 28/8/2026 (2:23 - 6:15 am BST, approx). It's 2-4 rak'ah and can be performed individually at home, before Fajr starts. [Bukhari]

Months of 28-31 days (UK vs. Saudi/S.Africa)

The 1984 UK Moon Sighting criteria, [see video] based on Fatwa Rahimiyyah (v.10/p.209), states that the moon must be sought on the UK horizon when there is a geographical possibility, before considering any foreign news. The 1448 Hijri table shows that if we start or end the month based on UK moon sightings, then following a far-distant foreign country could lead to 28 or 31-day months!
