Not seen after sunset: On 26 May 2017, ICOUK member Mr Younes Foster from Ashbourne City in the Derbyshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Mr Younes Foster commented: "Looked between 21.05 to 21.40 hazy cloud on and above the horizon [from Alkmonton Near Ashbourne]".
Batley
Not seen after sunset: On 26 May 2017, ICOUK member Ms Fatema Mulla from Batley City in the West Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Not seen after sunset: On 26 May 2017, ICOUK member Mr Mohammed Zabhier from Birmingham City in the West Midlands County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Mr Mohammed Zabhier commented: "Crescent not seen".
Not seen after sunset: On 26 May 2017, ICOUK member Dr Shahid Merali from Birmingham City in the West Midlands County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.
Dr Shahid Merali commented: "5 of us attempted to observe the hilal, in good conditions, at Clent Hills, between 20:20 and 21:40. The hilal was not seen either before or after sunset, with or without binoculars.".

Cardiff
Not seen after sunset: On 26 May 2017, ICOUK member Dr Feras Tuma from Cardiff City in the Wales County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was not seen by Binoculars.
Dr Feras Tuma commented: "I could not see the crescent before or after sunset after a thorough search with binoculars, I was at Dyffryn Gardens Outside of Cardiff, the sky was very clear but I could not get right down to the horizon ".

Not seen after sunset: On 26 May 2017, ICOUK member Mr Razmy Nazeer Mohamed from Crawley City in the west sussex County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Mr Razmy Nazeer Mohamed commented: "Very clear sky today but moon not seen, observed just after sunset till moon set 21:40 this time join with me Br Razmil, Br Naleem & Br Haseen. We (UKTJ/ SLMFC) follow only UK sighting therefore Month of Ramadan Begin from Sunday after completing 30 days of Shahban".

Not seen after sunset: On 26 May 2017, ICOUK member Mr Farsan Mansoor from Leicester City in the Leicestershire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Mr Farsan Mansoor commented: "Assalamu alaikkum wrahmathullah we did not sight the moon in Leicester to start blessing month of Ramadan".
Liverpool
Not seen after sunset: On 26 May 2017, ICOUK member Ms Jamilah Amal from Liverpool City in the Merseyside County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Ms Jamilah Amal commented: "Not seen, looked for hilal between 21:27 to 22:00. Hazy cloud on horizon. Location observation, Queens Dock, Liverpool water front.".
London
Not seen after sunset: On 26 May 2017, ICOUK member Shaykh Sulayman Gani from London City in the Surrey County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was not seen by Binoculars.
Shaykh Sulayman Gani commented: "I came to the location half hour before sunset. Brother Aniz joined me at sunset time. We observed for 10 minutes then prayed Maghrib with 2 others joined us at the location. After Maghrib we continued our observation with another 6 joining Masha'allah. We used my binoculars. The hilal was not sighted".
York
Not seen after sunset: On 26 May 2017, ICOUK member Eng Qamar Uddin from York City in the North Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "The Hilal of Ramadan was not seen in York, but ICOUK did receive a fax from Morocco at 9.25 pm BST, Alhamdulillah".
Announcement for start of Ramadan 1438 AH
On Friday 26th May 2017 (29th Shaban 1438 AH) the Hilal of Ramadan 1438 was not sighted in the UK, but it was sighted in Morocco. We have also received a positive sighting report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).
Therefore, the month of Shaban 1438 AH will have 29-days and the month of Ramadan 1438 AH will start from Saturday 27th May 2017 (1st Tarawih from the night of Friday 26th May 2017), Insha-Allah.
Note that Saudi Arabia normally announce the start of Ramadan on their SPA (www.spa.gov.sa) website.
