Not seen after sunset: On 18 Feb 2026, ICOUK member Mr Hameed Mamaniat from Blackburn (Mellor) City in the Lancashire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Telescope.

Mr Hameed Mamaniat commented: "The sky was totally cloudy. The sun could not be seen setting due to the dense clouds. We waited until moonset for some breaks in the clouds. Not seen by the naked eye or optical aid. Unable to image in infrared, either due to the dense clouds".


Cardiff

Not seen after sunset: On 18 Feb 2026, ICOUK member Mr Ashruf Amod from Slough City in the Berkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Rainy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.

Mr Ashruf Amod commented: "I arrived at the site at 4:10 pm. It had started raining, and the clouds were heavy and grey. It was overcast. I set the equipment to check directions; however, the rain got even heavier. I went back to my car and waited to check if the weather would improve. I checked the weather forecast, and it showed no improvement was expected. There was no sighting at Slough".

Hafiz Imraan Moolla commented: "My family (wife and 2 kids) and brother Mohammed Hassen arrived at Grande Rocque on the West Coast of Guernsey. It was cloudy the whole day, but we had a break, and then the moon was clearly visible for about 5 mins before disappearing again [Testimony Video]".

Seen after sunset: On 18 Feb 2026, ICOUK member Eng Riaz Anjam from St Saviour City in the Channel Islands County (Jersey) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.

Seen after sunset: On 18 Feb 2026, ICOUK member Mr Hatim El-Harrak from Tangier City in the Tangier-Tetouan Al-Hoceima County (Morocco) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.

Mr Hatim El-Harrak commented: "Yesterday, Wednesday, the 29th of Sha'ban 1447 AH, corresponding to February 18, 2026 CE, I sighted the crescent moon of Ramadan after sunset. The crescent was first observed through a camera lens, and after about five minutes, it became visible to the naked eye and was documented with a camera. Seen after sunset: On 18 Feb 2026, ICOUK member Maulana AbdulMalik Guillon from Adra City in the Murcia County (Spain) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.

Maulana AbdulMalik Guillon commented: "I have traveled from France to the neighboring country, Spain, to overcome any cloud cover, but fortunately, the crescent moon was also sighted in France by other members of our HilalFrance team. (Submitted on 19/2/2026 - Admin)".


Announcement for start of Ramadan 1447 AH

On Wednesday, 18th February 2026 (29th Shaban 1447 AH), the Hilal of Ramadan 1447 was sighted in Guernsey, Channel Islands, British Isles (Local), according to the rules of Shariah. Therefore, Shaban 1447 AH will have 29 days, and Ramadan 1447 AH will start on Thursday, 19th February 2026, InShaAllah.
