Bolton
Not seen after sunset: On 11 Mar 2024, ICOUK member Mr Muhammad Arshad Dar from Bolton City in the Greater Manchester County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.
Mr Muhammad Arshad Dar commented: "The sky was completely covered by thick clouds. We were a group of 5 observers praying for a break in the clouds but unfortunately, that didn't happen. It's a negative sighting report from Bolton".
Bradford

Seen after sunset: On 11 Mar 2024, ICOUK member Dr Feras Tuma from Cardiff City in the Wales County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye and Binoculars.
Dr Feras Tuma commented: "I was able to see the moon clearly by the naked eye and by telescope. There were clouds but then a gap appeared and Alhamdulillah seen it".

Shaykh Sulayman Gani commented: "I and my son, Huzaifah, reached the location half an hour before sunset. Waiting for us was a member of Assosiated Press who recorded us seetting up and took interviews from some of those who joined the effort. We offered Maghrib prayers and then observed the western horizon, but it was totally cloudy. There were about 10 of us in the group, but we could not see the crescent moon".

Mr Faruq Bilbe commented: "The cloud cover was so dense that we (my wife was with me) couldn’t even see any sign of the sun before or during sunset so we didn’t hold out much hope of seeing the Hilal. About 3/4 of an hour after sunset, with no obvious breaks in the clouds and feeling quite cold and wet we gave up. Although there was still a while to go before the moon set, it would have been quite low in the sky to see such an early crescent by then. [Submitted on 3/4/2024 - Admin]".

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was totally cloudy in York today (11/3/2024) without any gaps, as it happens sometimes. I and Shaykh Bashir Dodo were unable to see the moon, even with a computer guided telescope. However, we have received positive sighting reports from Wales and Cornwall, Alhamdulillah".

Announcement for start of Ramadan 1445 AH
On Monday, 11th March 2024 (29th Shaban 1445 AH), the Hilal of Ramadan 1445 was sighted in the UK (Local), according to the rules of Shariah. Therefore, Shaban 1445 AH will have 29 days, and Ramadan 1445 AH will start on Tuesday, 12th March 2024, InShaAllah.
