The crescent visibility map below for Shaban 1445 (RHS) shows that the moon will be born on 9 February 2024 at 22:59 GMT/UT, but it will not be visible by the naked eye anywhere in the UK to Morocco (MA) region on that date. However, on 10 February 2024, the moon may be visible in Morocco, but not in the UK. Hence, the month of Shaban is most likely to start on 11 February 2024 in Morocco and 12 February 2024 in the UK, InShaAllah.

Not seen after sunset: On 10 Feb 2024, ICOUK member Mr Muhammad Arshad Dar from Bolton City in the Greater Manchester County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.
Mr Muhammad Arshad Dar commented: "I went to my usual place in Rivington (Bolton) to sight the moon, this time I climbed the Northern hill to get a clear view. The western horizon was partly cloudy. It is a negative sighting from Rivington".
Cradley Heath
Not seen after sunset: On 10 Feb 2024, ICOUK member Mr Modoris Ali from Cradley Heath City in the West Midlands County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Mr Modoris Ali commented: "I couldn't see the moon, although the skies were clear. I was observing for 10 minutes".

Mr Juned Patel commented: "On the evening of the 10th of February 2024, I successfully photographed the crescent moon from Fleetwood, Blackpool (UK), using a telescope and an Astro camera [CCD] ".

Maulana Yusuf Mota commented: "Around sunset time in Leeds, there was a slight opening in the cloud where the moon would have been as shown in the photo, but soon after the sky was covered in total cloud".

Not seen after sunset: On 10 Feb 2024, ICOUK member Mr Abdul Karim from Richmond upon Thames City in the Greater London County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.
Mr Abdul Karim commented: "We reviewed the location during the day, unfortunately after sunset time the moon was not visible due to clouds on the horizon in the direction of sunset. We tried an alternative location nearby but we had a similar issue. Then the moon went below the horizon according to our App around 17:5x. We will try again tomorrow, InshaAllah".
York (New Earswick)

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was cloudy in York today (10/2/2024) so the moon was not seen. Most of the UK had similar cloudy weather, too. We hope to see it tomorrow easily (as it is expected to be very high), inshaAllah".

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was partly cloudy in York today (11/2/2024) with a dark bank of clouds on the lower horizon so the sunset was not seen. However, soon after I prayed maghrib on the grounds, I was able to see the Shaban Hilal with the naked eye, high above the bank of dark clouds for a few minutes (Alhamdulillah) before it was covered up by the moving clouds again".
Announcement for start of Shaban 1445 AH
On Saturday, 10th February 2024 (29th Rajab 1445 AH) the Hilal of Shaban 1445 was not in the UK (Local). Therefore, the month of Rajab 1445 AH will complete 30 days and the month of Shaban 1445 AH will start on Monday, 12th February 2024 (making 15 Shaban 1445 fall on the night of 25 February 2024), InShaAllah.
