Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "The sunset position this month was in the extreme South-West (230 deg), so I went to a new location to look for the moon. The sky was mostly clear but there was a dark patch of clouds just above the sunset point so I was able to see the sun for a short time before it was hidden by the clouds. The moon (was closely following the sun and) was not seen today. I hope better luck tomorrow, weather permitting, InshaAllah.".

Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel commented: "The sky was clear nearer to the sunset position on the western horizon. I waited for a 10-15 min after sunset as the moon was going to set by this time. No crescent moon was seen by naked eye or binoculars. Today was the 29th of Rabiul Awwal 1442 both my sighting calendar and by UQC. The age of the moon by local sunset time was about 8-9 hours and it was remaining on the horizon for only a few minutes. It wasn't possible to sight the crescent moon today from Abha (KSA)".

Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel commented: "Seen easily, first by binoculars 10 mins after local sunset time 17:45. I saw it for a few seconds only and then it disappeared into a thick cloud, only to re-appear below the clouds while it was setting. The best picture taken is attached at 18:30 local time".
Announcement for start of Rabi-ul Thani 1442 AH
On Sunday 15th November 2020 (29th Rabi-ul Awwal 1442 AH) the Hilal of Rabi-ul Thani 1442 was not sighted in the UK to Morocco region. We have also received a negative sighting report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).
Therefore, the month of Rabi-ul Awwal 1442 AH will complete 30-days and the month of Rabi-ul Thani 1442 AH will start from Tuesday 17th November 2020, InShaAllah.
Note that Saudi Arabia do not normally make any official Hilal Sighting announcement from Safar to Shaban (as they usually follow the Ummul Qura Calendar in these months).
