We were not able to sight the Hilal and the western horizon was completely covered with very dense clouds".

We offered our Maghrib Salah and then we were joined by Dr Rizwan Irshad and his children. We did not spot the crescent moon after sunset. With the [moon] altitude of 2° at sunset, it was not possible to sight the 13:41 hours old moon".

Location link is as follows: https://goo.gl/maps/eeZNTW2UC831m3YF9 We walked further along into the field to get pass the tree line. It's a hilly area so the sun sets behind a hilly section in the distance a few minutes before actual sunset time. But there is a clear view of the horizon. It's a nice open space with local walkers. The sky was mainly clear, although there was a layer of cloud built up above the western horizon. The crescent moon appeared approximately 50 mins later. It was very faint and first sighted by a co-observer (Mr Bilal Huggins). I was able to observe it myself with the naked eye. With the low lying cloud, it was visible for approximately 10 minutes. Seen after sunset: On 22 Jun 2020, ICOUK member Mr Moyeen Khan from London (Ilford) City in the Greater London County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.

Mr Moyeen Khan commented: "Sighted a faint crescent in Aldborough Hatch, Newbury Park next to St Peters Church. It was very difficult to capture a picture however the crescent was easily visible with naked eye".

Seen after sunset: On 22 Jun 2020, ICOUK member Mr Nasar Ramzan from London (Leyton) City in the Greater London County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye and Binoculars.

Mr Nasar Ramzan commented: "Alhamdulillah, first sighted the beautifully thin new crescent at 9.38 pm with my binoculars just 16 minutes after sunset in clear skies. This was followed by a naked eye sighting a few mins later. The crescent was initially in the blue sky just above the red sky then moved to the red sky as it set.".

Seen after sunset: On 22 Jun 2020, ICOUK member Mr Baber Siddiqi from London (Northolt) City in the Greater London County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.

Mr Baber Siddiqi commented: "A small group of us went out for the monthly sighting. It was the 29th Shawaal 1441 AH for us as we completed 30 days of Ramadan based on our previous month's negative sighting in Lands End, Cornwall. We were able to sight the new crescent moon about 15 minutes after sunset with the naked eye (by Christopher & Baber). We used our binoculars to help others view the crescent as it was not so easy to see but they were also able to witness it with the naked eye once it got a bit more darker. Not seen after sunset: On 22 Jun 2020, ICOUK member Ms Shemanara Haq from Middlesbrough City in the North Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Ms Shemanara Haq commented: "The sunset was at 9.45 pm. It became cloudy just a few minutes before sunset as in the first photo at 9.41 pm. Observing up until 10.35 pm. No crescent moon was seen. The second photo [shows] a blanket of clouds in Middlesbrough centre location".


Northampton

Seen after sunset: On 22 Jun 2020, ICOUK member Mr Zaheer Ahmad from Northampton City in the Northamptonshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Binoculars.

Mr Zaheer Ahmad commented: "It was partly cloudy for the duration. However, I was able to see the crescent for around 10 seconds through binoculars at around 22:40, was not able to get a photo of the crescent".

Seen after sunset: On 22 Jun 2020, ICOUK member Mr Saifuddin Clarke from Reading City in the Berkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.

Mr Saifuddin Clarke commented: "Very faint, there was a lot of haze in the sky. It was much easier to see with naked eye than the camera suggests [could detect it]".

Mr Mushahid Khan commented: "Alhamdulillah I and a brother went Stockport and even though the cloud cover was over 60 per cent we still managed to locate the moon. If it wasn't for the binoculars we would never have spotted the Moon. We spotted the Moon using binoculars at 10:05 pm and with the naked eye at 10:10 pm. Not seen after sunset: On 22 Jun 2020, ICOUK member Eng Qamar Uddin from York City in the North Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "I went to my sighting location well before sunset but it was partly cloudy and the sunset was almost close to the horizon. I waited almost an hour until nearly moonset time, but unfortunately, the thick dark bank of clouds above the sunset position didn’t move away so the Hilal was not seen. I am pleased to hear many people in the Midlands and Greater London area have seen it, Alhamdulillah".

Abha

Seen after sunset: On 22 Jun 2020, ICOUK member Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel from Abha City in the Asir County (Saudi Arabia) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye and Binoculars.

Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel commented: "Abha was partly cloudy and hazy. Local sunset was 6:50 pm. First I saw the Dhul Qaidah crescent with binoculars at 7 pm and then 10 min later I saw with the naked eye".


Announcement for start of Dhul Qa'dah 1441 AH

On Sunday 21st June 2020 (29th Shawwal 1441 AH), the Hilal of Dhul Qa'dah 1441 was not sighted in the UK/Morocco Region. We have also received a negative sighting report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view). Therefore, the month of Shawwal 1441 AH will complete 30-days and the month of Dhul Qa'dah 1441 AH will start from Tuesday 23rd June 2020, InShaAllah

Note that Saudi Arabia do not normally make any official Hilal Sighting announcement for Dhul Qa'dah (as they usually follow the Ummul Qura Calendar).
