The crescent visibility map below for Jumada Al-Ula 1441 shows that moon will be born on 26 December 2019 at 05:13 GMT/UT, but it will not be visible by the naked-eye anywhere in the UK/Morocco region on that date. However, on 27 December 2019 the moon will be easily visible in the UK and all other countries of the world. Hence, the month of Jumada Al-Ula is most likely to start from 28 December 2019, InShaAllah. Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was totally cloudy in York today and most of the UK too, so the moon was not sighted. There was a solar eclipse earlier today from the Far East, Asia to the Middle East where thousands of people saw the birth of the moon (New Moon Conjunction) with the human eye, which means the moon is in the invisible phase (mahaq) so it cannot be seen anywhere in the same evening. The makers of the Saudi Ummul Qura calendar (KACST) also state it doesn't match the visibility of the moon, so we humbly advise all the UK mosque calendar makers to use a predicted visibility (Imkan Al-Ruyat) based calendar instead (to avoid potential conflicts with planning for Ramadan/Eid). JazakAllah".

Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel commented: "The sky on the western horizon was clear with some patchy clouds. I only could see Venus and no crescent was seen on this day when solar eclipse was seen after fajr prayers around 7am".

Seen after sunset: On 28 Dec 2019, ICOUK member Eng Qamar Uddin from York City in the North Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.
Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "The crescent moon of Jumada Al-Ula 1441 was easily seen in many places today (28/12/2019). Unfortunately, most of the UK was totally cloudy yesterday otherwise we could have seen it".
Announcement for start of Jumada Al-Ula 1441 AH
On Thursday 26th December 2019 (29th Rabi-ul Thani 1441 AH) the Hilal of Jumada Al-Ula 1441 was not sighted in the UK/Morocco region. We have also received a negative sighting report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).
Therefore, the month of Rabi-ul Thani 1441 AH will complete 30-days and the month of Jumada Al-Ula 1441 AH will start from Saturday 28th December 2019, InShaAllah.
Note that Saudi Arabia do not normally make any official Hilal Sighting announcement from Safar to Shaban (as they usually follow the Ummul Qura Calendar in these months).
