Not seen after sunset: On 28 Oct 2019, ICOUK member Mr Soyeb Aswat from London City in the Isleworth County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Mr Soyeb Aswat commented: "There were breaks in the cloud but none were where the moon should have been".
Reading
Not seen before sunset: On 28 Oct 2019, ICOUK member Mr Saifuddin Clarke from Reading City in the Berkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Mr Saifuddin Clarke commented: "It is completely clouded over here in Reading so [there is] no chance to see the moon [after sunset]".

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "On Monday 28 October 2019. I went to a good location just outside York (Towthorpe Road) well before sunset, located the position of the sunset accurately as the sky was clear and setup my binocular on a tripod with two mobile phone adaptors for both ALT-AZ App as well as for taking photos via the binocular eyepiece (see photos). I waited nearly an hour (until moonset) but the Hilal of Rabi-ul Awwal 1441 was not seen".

Mr Mohammad Quraishi commented: "A group of five of us here witnessed the new moon on the 29th October 2019 after maghrib from approximately 5 pm onwards. We observed the moon on the western horizon for at least 20 minutes and left while it was still clearly visible [submitted 29/10/2019 22:39 GMT- Admin]".

Mr Modoris Ali commented: "I could not see the moon, although the skies were clear, I was observing it for 20 minutes".

Shaykh Sulayman Gani commented: "I arrived at Riddelsdown Common in Purley half an hour before sunset. The western horizon was cloudy. I could not see the actual sunset. Dr Hafiz Abdullah joined me on this observation. He arrived just before the sunset. The western horizon was totally cloudy".

Not seen after sunset: On 29 Oct 2019, ICOUK member Eng Qamar Uddin from Huddersfield (Castle Hill) City in the North Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.
Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "I have travelled from York to Huddersfield today to offer a practical moon sighting training to local residents. There were six of us in the group at the Castle Hill location (about 300m high), which included three scholars/imams. We noted the position of the sunset below the clouds and knew precisely where the moon was. Unfortunately, it became totally cloudy after sunset, so it was not sighted, even though we waited until nearly moonset time. Note also that the sun disappeared behind the mountain well before the sunset time at Castle Hill (SW direction)! There is another good location nearby (Emley Moor) that is worth trying next time, inshaAllah. However, other cities had better luck and were able to sight it, Alhamdulillah (including Blackburn, Preston etc)".

Mr Imad Ahmed commented: "A group of around 15 of us climbed St James Hill near Britannia Rd in Norwich. Many first time sighters. After watching the sunset and praying maghrib we all clearly saw the moon around 25 mins after sunset. It is hard to see the moon in the picture as it is from the [mobile phone] camera so I have added a circle. Moon was also seen in Birmingham and Blackburn".

Dr Mohammad Ramtoola commented: "The crescent [moon] sighted at 17:15 in Preston. The sky was clear and the moon was at an altitude of 4-5 degrees above horizon".

Seen after sunset: On 29 Oct 2019, ICOUK member Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel from Abha City in the Asir County (Saudi Arabia) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye and Binoculars.
Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel commented: "Seen very easily just after actual local sunset first by binoculars and then for around 50 min naked eye. Venus and Jupiter were also seen".
Announcement for start of Rabi-ul Awwal 1441 AH
On Monday 28th October 2019 (29th Safar 1441 AH) the Hilal of Rabi-ul Awwal 1441 was not sighted in the UK/Morocco region. We have also received a negative sighting report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).
Therefore, the month of Safar 1441 AH will complete 30-days and the month of Rabi-ul Awwal 1441 AH will start from Wednesday 30th October 2019, InShaAllah.
Note that Saudi Arabia do not normally make any official Hilal Sighting announcement from Safar to Shaban (as they usually follow the Ummul Qura Calendar in these months).
