Not seen after sunset: On 27 Feb 2017, ICOUK member Dr Shahid Merali from Birmingham City in the West Midlands County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Dr Shahid Merali commented: "Unfortunately the skies were cloudy in the direction of the expected crescent around the time of sunset".
Crawley
Not seen after sunset: On 27 Feb 2017, ICOUK member Mr Razmy Nazeer Mohamed from Crawley City in the West Sussex County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Mr Razmy Nazeer Mohamed commented: "There is very thick cloudy in Crawley today therefore can not seen the moon ".
Liverpool
Seen after sunset: On 27 Feb 2017, ICOUK member Ms Jamilah Amal from Liverpool City in the Merseyside County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.
Ms Jamilah Amal commented: "Tonight I sighted the hilal approximately 21 minutes after the maghrib prayer, here in Liverpool at the Kings Dock water front. It was 6:11 pm exactly when I spotted it. I was not able to get a clear photograph due to the lense on my camera phone not being strong enough. But I clearly saw it with the naked eye. Welcome Jumada Al-Thani. The orientation was from 1 o’clock to 7 o’clock. ".

Seen after sunset: On 27 Feb 2017, ICOUK member Shaykh Sulayman Gani from London City in the Surrey County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.
Shaykh Sulayman Gani commented: "Assalaamualaikum. I Suliman Gani came to the location in Pollards Hill in Norbury about 20 minutes before sunset today Monday 27 February 2017 corresponding to 29 Jumada Ula to determine the exact position of the setting of the sun . The western horizon was cloudy before sunset. It was windy. Clouds were moving . After Salaah I attempted my observation. Alhamdulilah I was capturing my last photos and to my amazement I spotted a beautiful crescent sitting nicely just above the dark clouds. I was so excited and requested a non Muslim passing by to record my observation. He sighted the hilal as well".

Seen after sunset: On 27 Feb 2017, ICOUK member Dr Mohammad Ramtoola from Preston City in the Lancashire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.
Dr Mohammad Ramtoola commented: "Moon was sighted at 18.15 in Preston, UK. Sky was clear, with some cloud on the horizon. Crescent was observed for about 20 minutes. [Report Verified via Skype - see YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKtg-fk29qU - Editor]".

Not seen after sunset: On 27 Feb 2017, ICOUK member Eng Qamar Uddin from York City in the North Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Rainy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "It was totally cloudy and raining in York area so the 27 hrs old Hilal was not seen".
Saudi Arabia
Abha
Seen after sunset: On 27 Feb 2017, ICOUK member Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel from Abha City in the Aseer County (Saudi Arabia) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye and Binoculars.
Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel commented: "Clear and ideal conditions for naked eye sighting of the 25hour old crescent moon (hilal). There were clouds away from sunset region. It was first sighted slightly to the left of sunset position some 20 mins after local sunset time. It was seen for around 20 minutes before it set behind low clouds. According to the Saudi Ummul Qura calendar today was 30th of Jamadi 1. The photo is taken by Nikon camera with zoom 300mm lens".
Announcement for start of Jumada Al-Akhira 1438 AH
On Monday 27th February 2017 (29th Jumada Al-Ula 1438 AH) the Hilal of Jumada Al-Akhira 1438 was sighted in the UK/Morocco region. We have also received a positive sighting report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).
Therefore, the month of Jumada Al-Ula 1438 AH will have 29-days and the month of Jumada Al-Akhira 1438 AH will start from Tuesday 28th February 2017, Insha-Allah.
Note that Saudi Arabia do not normally make any official Hilal Sighting announcement from Safar to Shaban (as they usually follow the Ummul Qura Calendar in these months).
