Not seen after sunset: On 08 Apr 2016, ICOUK member Mr Muhammad Arshad Dar from Bolton City in the Lancashire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.
Mr Muhammad Arshad Dar commented: "Negative sighting due to clouds on western horizon ".

Not seen after sunset: On 08 Apr 2016, ICOUK member Mr Juned Patel from Bolton City in the Lancashire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars or Telescope.
Mr Juned Patel commented: "On Friday 08 April 2016 (29 Jumada at-Thania 1437 AH) between 19:50 & 21:35 GMT (Local Sunset Time was 19:59 GMT & Moon Set Time was 21:31 GMT) at +53° 38 35.48, -2° 34 35.61 Moor Road, Anglezarke, Chorley, Lancashire PR6 9DQ, we attempted to sight the crescent moon (Hilal) of Rajab. None of us were able to sight the Hilal, The sky was totally cloudy.".

Seen after sunset: On 08 Apr 2016, ICOUK member Shaykh Sulayman Gani from Croydon City in the Surrey County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.
Shaykh Sulayman Gani commented: "I went up the roof of [Croydon] Masjid to make sure I had the right position of the setting of the sun. It was very cloudy under the crescent. The 3 of us sighted the hilal, myself, Mufti Yusuf Danka and Amroze Khan who recorded the observation with his phone.".

Not seen after sunset: On 08 Apr 2016, ICOUK member Dr Mamnunur Rahman Khan from Luton City in the Bedfordshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Seen after sunset: On 08 Apr 2016, ICOUK member Mr Ayub Kara from Morden City in the Surrey County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.
Mr Ayub Kara commented: "Creescent observed for 1 minute then clouds covered then new hilal [seen for short time]".
York
Not seen after sunset: On 08 Apr 2016, ICOUK member Eng Qamar Uddin from York City in the North Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Totally Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye or Binoculars.
Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "We were a group of 13 people (which included 9 members of York Astronomical Society) looking for the crescent moon of Rajab with naked-eye, binoculars and telescopes, but we were not able to sight the 32 hrs old moon, high in the sky, due to heavy clouds above the sunset position (see photos soon after and half hour after sunset)".

Seen after sunset: On 08 Apr 2016, ICOUK member Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel from Sudair City in the Riyadh County (Saudi Arabia) mentioned that the sky was Clear, the crescent was Seen by Naked-eye.
Hafiz Dr Ayyub Patel commented: "Easily seen from Sudair area 70km outside city of Riyadh, Saudi Srabia. Sunset was around 18:12 and first hilal was sighted by naked eye at 18>36. It was seen for over 20 minutes.".
Announcement for start of Rajab 1437 AH
The Hilal of Rajab 1437 was sighted in the UK and in Morocco on Friday 8th April 2016 (29th Jumada Al-Akhira 1437 AH). We have also received a positive sighting report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).
Therefore, the UK Ulama have decided that the month of Jumada Al-Akhira 1437 AH will have 29-days and the month of Rajab 1437 AH will start from Saturday 9th April 2016, Insha-Allah.
Note that Saudi Arabia do not normally make any official Hilal Sighting announcement from Safar to Shaban and Dhul Qa'dah. However, we have received confirmation that none of the Saudi Hilal Committees saw the Rajab Hilal on Thursday 7th April 2016 (as per Ummul Qura Calendar), but they did see it the next day, Friday 8th April 2016.
