The crescent visibility map below for Rabi-ul Thani 1437 shows that moon will be born on 10 January 2016 01:30 GMT/UT, but it will not be visible by the naked-eye anywhere in the UK/Morocco region on that date. However, on 11 January 2016 the moon will be easily visible in most countries of the world. Hence, the month of Rabi-ul Thani is most likely to start from 12 January 2016.

Not seen after sunset: On 10 Jan 2016, ICOUK member Eng Qamar Uddin from York City in the North Yorkshire County (United Kingdom) mentioned that the sky was Partly Cloudy, the crescent was not seen by Naked-eye.

Eng Qamar Uddin commented: "Back-dated report: We were unable to see crescent moon today (10/1/2016), even though some places had clear skies.".


Announcement for start of Rabi-ul Thani 1437 AH

The Hilal of Rabi-ul Thani 1437 was not sighted in the UK/Morocco region on Sunday 10th January 2016 (29th Rabi-ul Awwal 1437 AH). We have also received a negative sighting report from Morocco Awqaf Ministry (login to view).

Therefore, the UK Ulama have decided that the month of Rabi-ul Awwal 1437 AH will complete 30-days and the  month of Rabi-ul Thani 1437 AH will start from Tuesday 12th January 2016, Insha-Allah.

Note that Saudi Arabia do not normally make any official Hilal Sighting annoucement from Safar to Shaban.
